The role would suit someone who has a good knowledge of the construction industry, possibly from a trades background, who is now dedicated to working towards a Quantity Surveyor role.
Your job will be to support and compliment the production teams alongside the surveyors to deliver the administration of subcontract management and procurement for the region. You will learn and develop skills with the company-specific business systems and processes in order to be able to gain commercial knowledge of how the schemes will be delivered. The desire to get involved in a wide variety of projects is important.
You will be involved in the contractual negotiations and will support the regional surveying team to ensure deadlines are met within given timescales. You always need to have a keen interest and diligence for health and safety – working hard to satisfy H&S requirements. Being able to accurately forecast for tenders is beneficial and you will develop this skill further as you progress.
As a key member of the commercial team and as you settle into your role, you will be given responsibility for decisions which would assist in tenders and projections. You will support the production team to identify, agree and potentially challenge any changes arising in design and project specification from the clients.
You will be working with a talented team of commercial professionals and will develop quickly by being involved in a wide variety of work.
