You will have a proven track record of managing a wide range of projects and using a variety of materials. Being able to demonstrate that you have been instrumental in offering innovative solutions to complex design problems is crucial. At the interview, you will need to give examples of your approach to problem-solving. Circa 8-10 years of experience working in the UK would be beneficial for success in this role.
Clients are currently working mostly in the residential and commercial sectors on a wide spectrum of projects ranging in size from small domestic alterations to large multi-million-pound projects. They have been carving a strong reputation for working on projects in interesting and rural locations. The Cornish landscape lends itself to a real mix of project types and styles.
Ideally, you will be a member of the IstructE and have worked at a senior level. Some responsibility for managing people would be a real benefit.
