The successful candidate will take ownership of a wide variety of tasks including conducting feasibility studies, estimating materials plus time and labour costs, coordination of project works, valuing completed works and arranging payment matters. The client is also keen for the right candidate to be able to take a very active role in analysing and negotiating tenders and contracts as well as advising on legal and contractual issues.
The role would suit a commercially aware person who has a proven track record in a similar role. It is not essential that you have a background in the construction industry but clearly, it would be an advantage if you had some prior knowledge of the sector.
For this Exeter based QS job, you need to be able to display a methodical approach to problem-solving, have excellent negotiating skills, a good communication style towards all agents, colleagues and interested parties and a strong financial understanding.
The successful applicants will be meeting with the Commercial Director and the company MD for an interview and will be given a tour of a currently active site.
The salary for the role is 45K – 53K, there is a car allowance included in the package plus pension, private medical cover and flexible working options.
