As a Technical Advisor working for a medium sized consultancy you will be involved in a varied role. Ideally, with a background in Project Surveying, you will be responsible for checking drawings, inspecting sites for quality and progress made and ensuring health and safety arrangements are in place and being adhered to. You will carry out pre-handover inspections, be the lead on the handover process and be the go to for defects inspections and management. The job will entail report writing so being confident in working to formal report guidelines is important.

You will be engaging face to face with clients at all levels including contractors and senior management, you require excellent communication skills.

As part of your job, you will also be supervising and mentoring the junior surveyors to coach them through their own development areas. Some previous experience in a mentoring surveyors or in a leadership role would be a bonus.

As a business, this company have been working closely on cavity barrier projects, so a working knowledge of this would be an advantage. Someone from a building surveying or similar background would suit this job.

It’s a very exciting time to join this consultancy as they are taking on new works and new types of projects, they have been steadily growing over the last few years so you would be joining a well established and highly motivated team. Projects are based in the South West so you would be looking at Bristol, North Somerset and Somerset as an area – head office is in Devon so be prepared to travel to Exeter on occasion.
