The focus of this role is to ensure materials required by the production team are of the best quality and delivered within budget / time restraints and to support the health and safety procedures in place across the company. Working within the procurement set up, you will be measured on the percentage margin achieved, buying losses versus gains and adherence to company SLAs. The ideal candidate will be confident to hunt out new supplier opportunities and build relationships with both new and existing suppliers. Materials make up a part of each tender process for new work so the successful candidate will be involved in developing tenders for work.
The role provides an excellent link between the commercial teams and the construction teams. You will need to build sustainable relationships with the estimators and planners to ensure that the projects are joined up and delivered successfully within cost and time constraints.
If you have previous experience working in the groundworks sector, you may well be able to bring new ideas, innovative solutions and help to implement process enhancements.
